Based in St, Petersburg FL, The Petty Experience is the South's #1 tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. We aren't like others. No standing still or wearing wigs. We entertain through a world-class show featuring not just amazing musicianship but also true stagecraft, complete audience interaction, stage props from Tom's tours, regular guest artistson violin and trumpet, and so much more. The band can perform over 60 tracks from the Heartbreakers’ catalog, as wellas songs by the Traveling Wilburys and some of Tom’s collaborators and favorite artists. We're not only a tribute. We're an experience. 

Who We Are

Davy Alder
Lead vocals, guitar, harmonica

Originating from Newcastle, UK, Davy has performed across the globe from London to Amsterdam, Los Angeles to Nashville, San Francisco to Perth, Australia. He saw Tom perform 36 times starting in 1982 when he hitch hiked in the driving snow to see TP in Manchester, UK. As well as being an extremely accomplished vocalist, he’s also a veteran of the music industry, worked with top producers and opened for major acts.

Davy Alder

From Norway, Maine, Jason has spent years playing in rock bands across the US and Canada. Today he spends endless days perfecting Mike Campbell’s riffs down to the last detail. His playing is impeccable and not to be missed. He owns an amazing collection of guitars and is always on the lookout for more.

Bobby Boos
Drums, vocals

Originally a native of Seattle, Bobby moved to Los Angeles in the 80’s and quickly became part of its burdgeoning music scene.  As a professional musician he toured America for over 15 years playing in 1,500 to 17,000 seat venues and opening for countless acts including REO Speedwagon, Foghat, Journey, Jefferson Starship, Rory Gallagher, Kansas, Night Ranger, Rick Derringer, Scandal, Riot and Eddie Money.

Chris Thomas
Keyboards, vocals

Inspirations: Benmont Tench, Charlie Rich, Elton John, Floyd Cramer, Ray Charles, Chuck Leavell, Steve Winwood and Jerry Lee Lewis. 

Gear: Yamaha S90 and Roland keyboards, JBL mixers and monitors, Epiphone, Fender and Dean guitars. VOX and Line 6 guitar amps. 

Inspirations: Paul McCartney, John Entwistle, Bruce Foxton, Charles Mingus, James Jamerson,  Johnny Colt, and of course, Ron and Howie.

Previous Bands: Aston Martin & the DB5's, Tons and Tons of Hair, The OSU Jazz Ensemble, Jeff Lewis and Stillwater, Freud's Couch, Three Miles Ahead, The Tender Idols.

Gear: Fender, Hofner, Rickenbacker, Takamine, Vox and Yamaha bass guitars. Ampeg SVT amplification.

Hailing from Lancaster, KY, Chris began singing and playing piano/guitar in his father's small country church. From there he went to Houston, New Orleans, Nashville and Phoenix where he worked in various original and cover bands. He has performed with and opened up for numerous acts including Delbert McClinton, Dixie Chicks, Keith Urban and the Ranch, Foghat, Gin Blossoms, John Anderson and Clint Black to name a few.

Scott Collins
Bass, vocals

Bostonian Scott honed his craft on stages across the United States. He’s performed with or opened for

many major acts including Cheap Trick, The Black Crowes, Garth Brooks, No Doubt, Oasis, Bush, X, Blur

and The Flaming Lips. Tom Petty has been a musical staple throughout Scott's life, and he spends

endless days perfecting the musical nuances of the Heartbreakers’ Ron Blair and Howie Epstein.
